2022 quidditch world cup in jamaica
--- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL CONFEDERATION OF WIZARDS, U.K. DIVISION ---
Effective July 1, 2022 - the International Confederation of Wizards' Quidditch Committee is pleased to welcome all members of the wizarding community to the island of JAMAICA!
This beautiful, tropical island will be the host for the 2022 Quidditch World Cup - as well as our host for the next 3 or so weeks. Visitors are invited to arrive at their own convenience, and stay as long as they please. Official ICW-sponsored portkeys have been placed in major cities all around the globe, all leading to various points within a 1-mile radius of the stadium, which is located in the Blue Mountains. An obscuring charm has been placed around a 5-mile radius of the stadium, hiding all wizarding-related activity to the Muggle eye.
Attendees are welcome to camp in the area beginning July 1, 2022 and remain for the duration of the event (probably about 3 or 4 weeks, depending on how long the Quidditch matches might go - if we're lucky, we'll have a 56 hour long final like back in 1966!). Vendors properly licensed to operate through their local Ministry of Magic's may sell their goods and services to the public.
The ICW would also like to invite any and all musical acts, comedians, performers, etc. to grace one of several stages that have been set up throughout the event area. Whether you are an up-and-coming performer or a legendary band, we welcome you to entertain all guests in-between Quidditch matches!
Lastly, we encourage you to venture out and explore all that Jamaica has to offer. From local cuisine to pristine beaches to some of the world's best snorkeling, there is so much to see and do! Ministry-sponsored Foreign Relations agents will be posted throughout the event area with tips, advice, and local brochures to explore the island in-between Quidditch matches (since, obviously, we all know you are going for the Quidditch, right? Right?!) Just remember, please do not scare the Muggles. (We will also have an Obliviator team handy, but we would prefer to not use them!)
Stay posted for special events as the World Cup gets closer, as well as while it progresses. Special message boards will be posted in communal/central areas of all campsites with information, so keep an eye out! Enjoy your stay in Jamaica
