Reagan was exactly where she always was at 8pm, getting ready to close down her families diner. As all of the nightly cleaning and whatever she had to do was completed, she sat at the counter and watched some bewitched mouse napkins tore each other apart in front of her. She absolutely dreaded this time of day, but her father was sick and needed her to do it for him.

Reagan never expected that she would still be working at her family's diner at this point in her life. All of her classmates were out in the world as aurors, ministry workers, or... hell something a lot more fun than being stuck in mother flippin Perth, Scotland. There had to be something better than this..

The bell to the front door rang and Reagan was forced out of her boredom. 'Thank Merlin' she thought as she stopped the mice from running rampant in front of muggles and walked up to the stranger sitting at the bar. "What can I get fer ya?" she asked and then got the stranger his coffee and a piece of pie. She always found it nice when there was at least somebody in the diner with her, at least she had something to do.

As Reagan made herself look busy, she heard another customer come through the front door. As she turned around she saw somebody she never expected to ever see again, not that she was hoping not to. In fact, she couldn't hide how happy she was to see him. She grinned and placed her hands on the bar counter. "Well it's about bloody time!" she said in a semi stern manner.

While shopping wasn’t one of his favorite things to do, he loved spoiling Amelia. So that’s what he’d been doing all day. All of the bags were currently sitting in the trunk of his car. He was hungry and knew this little diner from last year. This late at night, he knew it was going to be basically deserted. His Ferarri purred up to the place, pulling into a parking space. He remember this place from last summer. There had been a girl here that summer. She’d been pretty; they’d flirted a bit, but nothing would ever come of it. She wasn’t someone his father would approve of in the first place. He wasn’t one for blindly following daddy's orders, far from it, but it wasn’t like he was going to see her after last summer anyway.

Hid Ferrari purred like a content kitten as he swung it into a parking spot. He knew the place would be just about empty, if not actually empty. He’s stashed the gifts in the trunk. Fortunately they were small, mostly clothes and a couple pairs of shoes, so it all fit in his tiny trunk. Memories rang back to him as the bell chimed when he opened the door. They were good memories; honestly good memories, and yet he hid them from the world behind a stoney face. He glanced down as soon as the crosse the threshold, working to unzip his light jacket, so he hadn't seen who was behind the counter when a voice spoke, seemingly directed at him.

”Excuse yo…” His voice trailed off as he looked up. It was her. Why was it her. Of anyone who could still be working here, why her? He was never suppose to see her again, and this showed all over his face. Ezio was so stunned that his carefully crafted expression had fallen. ”It’s you.” His tone was almost accusing, as if daring her to remain here any longer and cause him discomfort.

Reagan couldn't help but giggle as she saw the shocked look on Ezio's face. True she had planned to get the hell out of there by then, but because of unforeseen circumstances, there she was, incredibly stuck and bored with her life. Seeing Ezios face however, that was not boring. "I was beginning ta think you were never going ta come by" she started, her voice stern and matching his tone of accusation. "You were a regular last summer but you go weeks without saying hello?"

Reagan unfolded her arms and placed one on the counter in front of her, the other grabbing a menu and putting it down facing him. "Coffee?" She asked him, grabbing the coffee pot and a cup as she poured one. Hell, even if he didn't want it she'd drink it. It was an incredibly long day. Though she was glad to see him. The previous summer had been filled with lots of flirting, though to her dismay nothing ever came from it. She was always too proud to admit her feelings for
Ezio, whatever they were. Hell, she never even had the opportunity to figure out WHAT her feelings were... just knew that there was something.

Her voice...it was sweet. It made him want to smile, he could feel the muscles in his face training against his better judgment, but his head won out in the end, and he didn’t even smirk. Last summer...it, it had been a mistake. His father hadn’t found out, but Ezio knew it was only a matter of time before the man found out. Cesare always found out everything. Some might assume that meant he cared about her. Deep down, in a way, it did. He didn’t want her hurt by his father. But he could also say that for just about anyone his father wasn’t born likely already, which was anyone without the right pureblood pedigree.

”I’ve been...busy,” he said vaguely. He assumed she knew he was in school until summer, and he didn’t have to explain that part. He needed to give her the cold shoulder, and then she offered him coffee. Coffee. He should have just turned around and walked out, but he didn’t. Coffee. He walked to the counter and sat down on the stool as she poured him a cup. He looked up at her as she handed him a menu. He pushed it back to her without looking at it. ”You know what I like.”

His voice purred out like velvet as he watched her, his blue eyes latched on her green ones. Damn it, he was flirting with her again. It was like he had no control over it at this point. He was craving her smile, as sweet as Italian cream. The man that had come in before him, glanced over for a moment before going back to his plate of food.

Reagan's green eyes fell onto Ezio's, the blueness beginning to pull her in as they always did. She couldn't help but smile slightly as she realized that he was flirting with her. Always flirting. No matter how hard he seemed to fight it, she could always see right through his walls. The previous summer had helped her to truly get to know one another and honestly... she had started to really fall for him through it all.

"Not servin' breakfast" Reagan said plainly, glad that he hadn't forgotten their silly little ritual. She pushed the menu back at him, her hand slightly grazing his arm as she pulled her arm back. Every time he got the same thing, and every time she ends up making it for him. Before he could answer, the other customer got her attention, wanting some more coffee and another slice of the pie.

Reagan began to prepare another pot of coffee, and then went into the kitchen to prepare Ezio his stupid eggs Benedict with salmon instead of bacon. Yuck! He may had been extremely cute, but his taste in food was disgusting. When it was finished cooking, she placed it on a plate, drawing on a smiley face with the sauce as she did so. She brought it out to him, placing it in front of where he was sitting as she looked at him through slotted eyes. "Don't get used to this" she added, knowing full well that the next time he came in she'd be doing the same exact thing.

Ezio watched her through the cutout in the wall while she make the eggs. It had been interesting at first, watching her try to make them. He’d enjoyed it, in a way. Watching her try to poach an egg perfectly. Eventually he’d gotten up and gone into the kitchen to help her. He’d explained to her that you just had to let the eggs cook. He had then made the sauce from scratch, showing her how. He could still remember how she’d smelled as he stood behind her, showing her how to whisk the egg yolks and butter. He’d wanted her then, but his father’s voice always stormed into his head, stopping anything his might have even thought of doing.

Tonight he simply watched her. She had it down. She still remembered how to make it that way he showed her. Watching her make it thought brought back all those memories from last summer. A gurgle made him look at the coffee maker, just as it finished. He got up, grabbed a mug and the pot, taking them both back to his spot, pouring some as she walked back out. He smiled as the drawing on his plate. He stayed on her side, the wrong side of the counter after she’d set the plate down. ”You still remember how to make the sauce right?” He dipped his finger in it, before sucking the sauce off the end. ”Mmm. You do remember.”

Ezio didn’t even turn around as the bell over the door chimed and two men walked in, hats pulled down low. ”Too late, I’m going to expect this every time I com-” Ezio didn’t get to finish this sentence when gunfire went off. The two men who’d come in last had begun firing into the ceiling to scare everyone. He wrapped an arm around Reagan, pulling her to the floor. Crap! What was he suppose to do now? Regan would be okay, but using magic now would expose them to the muggles, the robbers and the one innocent one. He glanced at Reagan.

”All right. If the little missy could come out. We want the money from the register. And whatever the owner of the Ferarri’s got on him.”

Ezio ground his teeth, wondering what Reagan was thinking right then. ”Are you okay?” He whispered to her.

Reagan couldn't help but grin at Ezio, finding him completely adorable as he tried to pull off being domineering. She slapped her hand against his arm, about to tell him off when she heard a sudden noise. She hadn't even been paying attention to the rest of the restaurant, which was possibly how they were in that situation, but Reagan just sat down next to Ezio, her back up against the counter as she tried to think. First I need to get their weapons away...where's my wand?

Reagan felt around her clothes when she looked at Ezio who had just asked her a question. She shook her head at him adding, "I don't have my wand". That's when she remembered leaving it by those stupid bloody napkins. Damnit! She didn't even know what she would have done if she did have her wand. Obviously she couldn't expose magic to them.. but it did make her feel safer having it on her person.

Taking a deep breath in, Reagan realized that she had been holding Ezio's hand the entire time they were hiding. She looked at him, closed her eyes and then squeezed his hand tightly before letting go and standing up. She raised her hands up, showing that she wasn't armed. "Alright. We don't want no trouble" she said to them, walking slowly to the cash register before opening it and taking out all of the bills. "That's my car" she lied, hoping that they would buy it. "You're already taking everythin' I have. Please just go."

Another loud noise rang out in the shop, causing Reagan to jump. "Don' lie ta me, ho!" one of the men said, the other slowly making his way to the other end of the counter, toward Ezio. Reagan looked at him, then Ezio..he was just about to walk around the corner when she knew she had to do something. She threw the hot pot of coffee on the man in front of her and ran to her wand in between the register and Ezio.

In the chaos the other customer ran outside while the one covered in hot coffee backed up to the door, taking the bag of money as he did so. "Let's bolt!" he yelled at the other, who pointed his gun at Reagan... and shot.

Reagan hadn't reached her wand, she seemed to have barely moved when she suddenly stopped short.. and placed a hand on her right side. She stumbled backward into the wall before using it to guide herself down, her body shaking terribly.

Ezio gritted his teeth when she told him that she didn’t have her wand. He tilted his head up, as if he’d be able to see through the counters to be able to see where it was. He was just about to ask her where she’d left it, even as the men demanded Reagan come out. He couldn’t help the little twitch of a smile on his lips as she squeezed his hand, but then she let go. He reached out for her, to pull her back down, but she had already stood up and could be seen by the thieves.

He watched her open the drawer and then try to claim his car as her own. He slid his hand over, gently touching her calf to give her support. His grip tightened as one of the robbers called her a whore. Ezio looked up at her, starting to get to his feet. He knew he should squash these feelings, not care. He couldn’t even begin to fathom what his father would do should he find out about them. Anyway, he was technically engaged, so some pureblood girl, even if he couldn't’ stand her, that’s what three wings and dozens of rooms were for right? Never having to see your spouse after your wedding if you couldn’t stand her.

Ezio looked up at her as she looked down, starting to slide his wand out of the holster on his forearm. He was about to put down some ice for the guy to slip on, when Reagan bolted away from him, grabbed the fresh pot of coffee and threw it in the guy’s face before bolting for her wand; but she didn’t make it before the other guy’s gun went off. They both bolted, but Ezio wasn’t paying attention to them. He was already on his feet, and then beside Reagan, his arms around her, helping her down before looking at her. ”Reagan. Let me see.” He was kneeling beside her, putting his hand over hers. He wasn’t very well versed in gunshot wounds, but he still wanted to see how bad it was.
