I'LL MAKE THIS PRETTY LATER~~~
SEBASTIEN LANCE CHEVALIER
Name: Sébastien Lance Chevalier
Ideal Face Claim: Benedict Cumberbatch
Occupation: Professor at Beauxbatons. Possibly even Head of House AND/OR Deputy Headmaster OR even Headmaster. He strikes me as a go-getter and is probably someone who could hold down the fort, be a good example, and lay down the law at the school.
General Personality: Exceptionally smart, analytical, ambitious. Probably has a tough-love aspect and a bit of a hard-ass personality. Might accidentally come across as an arrogant asshole when explaining something he's particularly good at that someone else may be struggling with. Is probably not SUPER social but isn't exactly socially inept, either.
History: Pretty much up to you, except for that he had a kid (Lance) kind of young. Oops. Here's Lance's history for some reference:
|Lance was an accident. He knows so, and he would never try to pretend otherwise. |Like his mother tries to play it off. Growing up with a sometimes-there, sometimes-not-there father, it wasn't difficult to figure out.
Sylvie and Sébastien had practically grown up knowing one another. Each coming from a Pure Blood family - neither were the most prestigious, but both of them were at least recognizable - the boy and girl were often playmates at dinner parties, piano lessons, etc. Sébastien went to Beauxbatons before Sylvie; those few years until she closed the gap and began attending herself was perhaps the longest stretches of time that they had gone without seeing one another. It didn't matter, though - they were just friends, had their own lives, and their own people.
Sometime during the course of school, that changed. Maybe it was hormones. Maybe it was genuine. Neither of them still really know, to this day - and they don't talk about it, either. Whatever went on between them, it lasted for a few years, until Sylvie was in her seventh year. When she wound up pregnant with her older-graduated-boyfriends' baby, the news took a toll on her family's reputation. Lance didn't exactly have the warmest welcome or the most glowing reviews - though of course, he doesn't remember any of this. At least Sébastien was a Pure Blood - so Lance was a Pure Blood, too. Still, the entire situation was unbecoming of the Colberts' youngest daughter, and Sébastien was shooed out of the picture pretty quickly.
It's still unclear to this day whether or not that was the way he wanted it. Judging by Lance and his fathers' present-day relationship, Lance is pretty sure that arrangement suited Sébastien just fine. Regardless, Sébastien wasn't around for the first five years of Lance's life, except for brief visits on holidays. Lance doesn't remember it much, but as he grows older, hearing repeats of the stories of his absent father just makes him upset with Sébastien - though they've never really discussed it or hashed it out.
Sébastien came back into Lance's life as a...well, at least as a semi-permanent fixture, when he was seven years old. Sylvie was pregnant again, and instead of facing persecution from her family as she did with Lance, she quickly married the father of her second child, Benoit, sweeping it all under the rug and pretending as though little Bianca was a honeymoon miracle. Lance, quite accustomed to being an only child, was not handling it well. Several incidents occurred in his new home, with his sudden, new family, including the rug of Bianca's room spontaneously catching on fire.
Sylvie turned to Sébastien to help bring down Lance's occasionally erratic emotions. From the age of seven onwards, Lance forged a strained, strange, almost frenemy sort of relationship with his father. He looked up to him, and yet hated him all the same. Sébastien triggered uncomfortable feelings and emotions in Lance, and yet, he just wanted his own father, as he knew Benoit was not his. (Besides, Benoit was fixated on his daughter, Bianca). Making do with what he had, Lance accepted Sébastien as a father. A pretty bad one, and habitually absent, but...ok, sure, a father.
When Lance was eleven, he received his letter to Beauxbatons, at the shock of nobody. What did shock his former Sanguine mother was that her seemingly happy, social butterfly of a son was not also a Sanguine. It was a toss-up, really, and came close, but Lance ultimately was sorted into Flegmatique. Over the course of his schooling, he didn't particularly do much in regards to reaching for the stars - he passed his classes, some of them by just a hair. Quidditch was fun to watch, but Lance's personality would have never fit in the time for practices and games.
Home life was becoming increasingly difficult for Lance. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't get along with or please Bianca - and after becoming frustrated and emotional over this, Benoit took it out on him. Sylvlie suggested that Lance stay with Sébastien over the summer; it wasn't long afterwards though that the two fought so harshly over Lance's lack of ambition (note: Lance has ambition, he's just bad about working it to its' potential - something his father doesn't quite see or understand) and non-existent work ethic that Lance was out on the street before his sixth year even began. At least, when he went back to school, he had a roof over his head.
He did join the Wizards Chess Club during his time at school, but found it to be exhaustively boring after two years. His best success was heading a Debate Team at school, though it often turned into more of a philosophical pow-wow under his command. Regardless, it looked nice when he graduated, as he wanted to go to the Ministry for a career in government or law.
Overall, Lance wasn't the best student. He passed what few classes he needed to in order to secure a position at the Ministry of Magic, where he had grand dreams of someday becoming the French Minister of Magic. Continuing his education after Beauxbatons, Lance went to college, while simultaneously working an internship at the Ministry. Within nine months, he was let go, on the grounds of misfiling some rather important paperwork for the Minister of Magic himself - purely due to lack of attention or care.
Desperate for a job, Lance made a career move, and joined his mother and stepfather at the France wizarding hospital as a trainee Healer. One careless mistake later, however, and one patient administered the incorrect potion for their condition, and Lance was let go from that position, as well. During his time as a trainee Healer, he did find the theory of plants to be quite interesting, and began studying more on magical plants and their properties.
He was, by no means, however, fully enough versed on them by the time the next offer rolled around. As he just graduated college in the spring of 2020, Beauxbatons' Herbology Professor announced their sudden retirement in the summer of 2020, leaving merely four weeks for the staff to find and fill the position.
Though hesitant, Sébastien referred his son for the position - quite desperate, the staff accepted, though for everyone, it's effectively a trial. For Lance, he might not even end up liking it. For the staff, he may not be good enough - but at least they have someone teaching in the interim while they still look for a more permanent solution. And for Sébastien, this is his trial period to see what his son is really about - if he's as lazy and disorganized as he thinks he is. And if he is? Well, Sébastien will just have to try and fix his son. Let Project Lance begin - just don't tell Lance, because he despises being micromanaged.
Relationships with other characters: Lance Chevalier - his only child and son, and occasional thorn in his side. Lance tends to think that anything he does isn't good enough to win Bas's approval, and Lance might be right. The two bicker a lot.
This is entirely changeable, I know it isn't much to go on, but I'll be honest, I just want a Benedict Cumberbatch char on this site, and I think the faces could be a good father/son combo haha. I'm not concrete on this, so if you have a better plan or want a different relationship, just lmk and pitch it to me xD

DRINA BEATRICE MORELLO
Name: Drina Beatrice Morello
Ideal Face Claim: Camila Mendes
Occupation: Up to you! We can discuss it.
General Personality: She's a smart cookie, but people tend to overlook this due to her...uhh, cold exterior, to put it nicely. She's pretty, posh, and pretentious. People probably don't give much thought to the fact that she might actually have depth to her (or maybe she doesn't - lol - up to you). She could have probably easily been a Slytherin at school thanks to her ambitious nature, but for all intents and purposes, she was in fact a Ravenclaw. XD I'd love if someone gave her some sort of redeeming quality, like that she's a hopeless romantic or something (it doesn't have to be THAT, I'm just trying to think of some random quality that might make her warm to others or put her in a situation that might have previously been thought as impossible? if that makes sense?) - I do want her and Wes to reconcile and get over their drama eventually. Maybe she can get into trouble and for some reason Wes is who she needs to turn to, or maybe it's revealed that she's actually a big softie in the right situation. idk! Tons of ideas and potential!
There might be a few age discrepancies in Wes's actual history, please forgive me I need to address those SO basically, Drina was born as the second child to the seemingly happy, atypical fancy, rich Pure Blood couple, Ricardo Marino Morello and Luisa Perlita Morello. Her birth very nearly coincides with the birth of Wesley Morello due to Ricardo being a bit of a dog, lol >.>
Drina's upbringing was mostly one without complication. She's had a good life, has never wanted for anything or gone without, and it prooooobably shows in her personality.
At Hogwarts, she was sorted into Ravenclaw, where she did quite well. I like to imagine she's one of those "naturally gifted/talented" people who probably didn't have to work very hard to pass her classes, which give people all the more reason to have disliked her XDDD
That being said, I feel that she was probably one of the pretty, popular girls in school. She attended Hogwarts concurrent with her half-brother, Wes, whom she was more than aware of. They've never really had a "sibling" relationship, and instead, have been more like dedicated rivals the whole time they've known one another - which, their time at Hogwarts was probably the bulk of the time they spent with each other seeing as Wes, his older sister (also Drina's half-sister, as it seems Ricardo is a repeat offender), and their mother were never welcome around the Morello estate.
As far as in school things like clubs that she joined, etc., that's up to you, as well as what she's done post-graduation. Part of me feels like she's just an uppity trophy wife, but that doesn't really give her much depth, and I was hoping she'd have some plot arc that redeems her XD so maybe she's headed down that path, like engaged to some rich guy mogul or something and then truly finds herself and goes and does her own thing? IDK I'M JUST SPOUTING IDEAS. Or she could just be totally independent from the get-go, travels, has made her own success for herself - because that isn't unbelievable, either. I feel like she's a good mix of token Ravenclaw/Slytherin traits and you could really go either way.
As far as the Death Eaters go - her affiliation would not be an entirely unbelievable one, so if you want to go that route, I'd be ok with that, too.
Relationships with other characters: Wesley Morello - half-siblings and rivals. Despite sharing the same father and being nearly the same exact age, they never interacted prior to attending Hogwarts together. Once there, they were both in the same year, and both sorted into Ravenclaw. They competed intensely in all things scholarly, as well as social - trying to get the best grades, seeing who had the most friends, etc. Wes often got the short end of the stick when it came to what he really wanted - which was a relationship with their father, Ricardo. He'd write letters to his dad to update him on his schooling, hoping he'd care, but instead, Drina was the one who corresponded with their father, as well as the only one who ever received any sort of gifts. She never missed a beat rubbing this in Wes's face, so needless to say, after seven years of reminding him that he's little else than a bastard child, the two do NOT get along.
Involvement: Not sure yet. I'm pretty flexible but wouldn't want big decisions made without me XD
