Royal Morois were known for throwing the best fuckin’ parties.

Gabrielle Sauveterre might not have been one of them, but she sure knew how to appreciate one.

Truth be told, it was probably more of the prospect of breaking the rules that had her in such a happy-go-lucky mood as she wove her way through the throngs of dancing, chatting, and drinking students that had taken over one of the floors of the dhampir dormitories at St. Vladimir’s. Everyone knew that the school-sponsored parties were utterly worthless. Grown-ups didn’t know how to throw fun get-togethers for kids, so why they even tried was sort of beyond Gabby’s realm of understanding.

But what everyone also knew was that all of the teachers, and most of the guardians, would be pre-occupied with keeping an eye on the school’s event… which meant that the rest of the school was practically theirs for the taking.

Young dhampirs and Moroi, both royal and non, had flocked to this particular party; technically, hosted by Carter Wren Booth (a dhampir throwing a party, now that was a novelty that had attracted half the students here), but it had long-since bled out into the hallway and into several other surrounding dorm rooms. Through the windows, Gabby could see the beginnings of blood-red sunrise beginning to pique over the thick treeline outside.

Yeah, this party was gonna be rocking until way past their bedtimes.

Gabby found herself personally gravitating towards a room where there were a few clusters of dhampirs hanging out, dark eyes lit up with life and excitement. She was a royal Moroi, it was true, and the daughter of a prince; as such, it was probably odd that she should be seeking the company of future guardians rather than those she could make political alliances with. But, honestly, she’d never been one for the social scene, and dhampirs got to kick ass. As far as Gabby was concerned, that was a lot more exciting, and a lot better use of her time, than talking to people.

“Hey, hey, guys, is there any, uh, special drinks left? Like the kind you sneak from a professor’s storage closet? I’m not having nearly enough fun yet,” she chirruped as she waltzed into the room, a wide toothy grin on her face. Gabby’d never had much of a mind for concealing her fangs, took too much effort. As she glanced around the room, she knew that she was probably making dumb decisions. But hey. That’s what parties were for, right?

Thread Description: This is a thread open to any and all characters that have been entered as STUDENTS in the Vampire Academy alternate universe, whose information is located here. If this looks fun/interesting to you, feel free to post there and get involved!

Essentially, the setting for this open fun thread is an "after party" after one of the school's many silly dances. (Halloween or All Soul's, maybe?) There can be alcohol or whathaveyou (please keep it PG for Proboards TOS reasons!), revelry, etc.! My vision is that this is a party encapsulating an entire floor of dorm rooms, so perhaps your character has opened their room for partygoers to flock in and out of, or maybe they're hiding out in their room and trying to avoid all the noise, etc., it's up to you! Have fun!

Parties were a part of life at St. Vladimir’s Academy, and of course, it was usually the Royal Moroi who threw the best ones. Of course, all the usual party host held some killer parties, no matter where they came from. The students knew what they wanted. Whereas the staff and adults seemed to have forgotten how to have fun. School events were too restrictive, with guardians positioned everywhere. Each one looking out for any signs of trouble, as if they expected Strigoi to attack the school that very second. It made things difficult for a girl to have a good time.

Aliyana was thankful for the after parties at the school. She’d make sure to leave the school’s party earlier, wanting to make sure she could properly get ready. There were always two types of outfits for these nights. The safe for school outfits, followed by the special after-hours attire that might cause some of the grown-ups to gasp in shock. Or maybe not. God forbid, it wasn’t like Aliyana was wearing anything revealing. She was just wearing an outfit that was more fun, something that according to her parents wasn’t appropriate for a Royal Moroi to wear. She wanted to look hot, but still, tease with whatever sexiness she might have possessed.

Despite taking her sweet time to get ready, Aliyana still managed to arrive at the party relatively early. Already it was proving to be quite the event, one that had gained the attention of several Moroi and Damphirs alike. She wasn’t familiar with the host, Carter Booth. All she knew about him was that he was a guardian in training, and as it turned out could throw a hell of a party. Just one look around the room told her that it would not be one to miss.

Aliyana found herself lingering amongst her fellow Moroi students for the time being. She wandered around greeting those she passed by with a smile and doing her best to socialize. It was easy. This was her element, and it wasn’t too difficult to shine. Every so often her eyes would wander over to where the Damphir students seemed to have gathered, as she tried to sneak a peek at who had all shown up. She was curious if Mason D’orolione had bothered to show up. It was hard to explain why, but for some strange reason, she felt drawn to the guardian. Almost like she was crushing hard on him. No, no that was silly. She couldn’t be. Nope, no way.

She was knocked out of her thoughts when another student stopped next to her, presumably to grab a drink. Something she’d completely forgotten to do herself. “Hey! Are you enjoying the party?” she asked to be polite. “Are the drinks any good? I haven’t gotten one for myself yet, so uh, I’m just curious as to whether I should try it or not.” Smiling at the person next to her, Aliyana turned away so to not linger around them for too long. Just in case her presence wasn’t wanted. Instead, she’d wait her turn to help herself to a drink unless they wanted to make light conversation. Besides, it was still early in the night, and the party was just getting started. She had plenty of time to enjoy herself and socialize with friendly faces.

Carter loved to throw a good party. He loved getting everyone together for a good time, moroi, royal, dhampier, basically anyone who wasn’t a stuffy adult. Of course, certain things needed to be smuggled in, because what kind of horrible party would it be if there was no...fun drinks, as it were. Invitations had, naturally, been spread by word of mouth. People knew who not to tell, like teacher’s pets and snitches. He may not have had the stigma his half sister had, with her father having himself turned strigoi just to get revenge on the family, but people still knew who he came from. He countered this by always throwing a great party, and...well, sleeping with just about anyone who would stick around long enough.

He was just about to exit his room, and mingle with everyone, mostly the ladies of course. He picked up his drink, that he’d just made and headed towards the door, giving a few girls a one armed hug and a kiss on the cheek in greeting, and high fiving or bro-hugging for the dudes. He was just about to exit when a rather stunning moroi walked in, all smiles, Gabrielle Louise Sauveterre. He knew who she was, no way he couldn’t, she was after all a royal. He smiled back at her, lowering his voice and leaning in closer to her so he could speak quietly. ”For you, your highness, there will always be special drinks. In fact, here, have mine.” He pressed his drink into her hand with a very obvious wink before sweeping out into the hall. He would have lingered longer if he thought there was a chance, but really, he was a dhampir of a dishonored family, and she was a moroi royal, but there were plenty of fish in the regular sea.

Luke had never been on to attend the parties thrown at St. Vladimir’s. The Royals may have thrown them often, but he’d never have the heart to. It wasn’t his kind of scene. Getting drunk and staying up way past curfew, it all felt kind of pointless. If given the choice he’d rather head down to the gyms, attempt to sneak in some late night training. He was a damphir. He needed to learn how to kill strigoi; he wanted to avenge his fallen family. Between studying and training, Luke didn’t have time for dumb parties.

Yet, it was almost impossible to avoid one when it was being thrown on the same floor as his dorm room. The tall Damphir had locked himself in his room, trying to do what he could to block out the noise. Someone was playing loud music, and he could hear others shouting drunkenly as the alcohol they’d consumed kicked in. There were no signs of things growing quiet any time soon. Everyone in attendance would be too busy appreciating a good party until it was called off, or if someone came along to close it down.

No way was he getting any fucking sleep until it ended.

Luke wouldn’t complain much. It wasn’t like he had been trying to sleep, instead his focus had been turned to a book that had he’d picked up from the library. His eyes stared at the pages, in an attempt to read the words on the page. To escape away into a sci-fi world, joining the battle against a fallen evil empire. The story itself had caught his interest, but reading any more for the night was proving increasingly impossible.

A sudden knock on his door drew his attention away, head turning to glare at the only thing separating him from the party taking place all throughout the floor. Every fiber of his being told him to remain hidden, to refuse to open the door to see who was outside. It should have been an easy decision to make, and for a few moments, he ignored the door. Seconds passed and more knocking occurred, followed by someone drunkenly shouting to let them in. With a heavy sigh, Luke pushed himself off his bed to open the door. He wanted to see who had disturbed him, hoped to convince them to go party in one of the other rooms.

Approaching to the door, a hand reached out to grab onto the doorknob and turned it to see who was standing outside it. He moved to open his mouth to speak, but before any words could escape two clearly drunk moroi pushed past him. Judging by the way they were pulling at one another, it was no secret that the two were a couple. An observation that proved true when the two embraced in an intimate manner before beginning to make out in a way that could only be described as drunkenly and sloppily.

Annoyance crossing his features, Luke stepped back a few inches before muttering a flurry of curses. What the hell were they doing? Couldn’t they find a bathroom or a corner somewhere else? No. No, he couldn’t allow this. “Get out! Go somewhere else and….and do your thing. Please.” The words came out in almost a growl, as annoyance flared in his eyes. Crossing his arms, he moved to stand next to the door waiting for the couple to move. If they heard him, they weren’t showing any signs of it. Minutes ticked by and he let out an exasperated sigh, realizing that the drunk moroi couple wasn’t going to budge. Not until the sobered up or grew bored, and wandered off elsewhere. His pleas for them to leave would only fall on deaf ears.

“Fucking hell,” Luke exclaimed, pushing himself out of the room and into the hallway. Party noises grew more intense, as he escaped from what had been his safe haven. Pushing feet forward to move through the hall, he would occasionally turn his head to catch a glimpse as to what was going on around him. Yeah. It was definitely a party, one that wouldn’t be ending anytime soon. It was in full swing with almost everyone loving it. Maybe he’d made a mistake in trying to avoid it. No doubt someone would see him, and immediately comment how he needed to relax and have a bit of fun.

It didn’t matter. He had managed to get swept into things, so now all that was left to do was see what happened. Luke followed a few Damphirs into one of the rooms. Upon entering, it didn’t take long to realize that it was more or less where they were all hanging out. He could recognize a few faces but didn’t make an effort to say anything right away. Rather, Luke moved to the back of the room where he found a plush chair in the corner to sit in. On his way, he made sure to help himself to one of the drinks being offered. Even if he wasn’t there to party like the rest of them, it wouldn’t hurt to try to enjoy things a little.

Peace wasn’t an option, so all that was left was to make due and live alongside the party. Who knows, maybe being in the environment long enough would help to lighten his mood up some? Hard to tell. More difficult to know for sure.

Vampire Academy AU ◭ just gonna go ahead and throw Luke into this thing 8D
